I hope this works with Amazon as I'm fed up with being bombarded with e-mails each time I browse for anything.

Well say I browse for laptops, Amazon will send me a daily e-mail telling me  which laptops they have on offer.  It gets really annoying after a while.

There must be a setting in your Amazon account to turn those off.

Trouble is that Amazon always turns browsing history back on again as it's a law unto itself.  I've tried browsing anonymously but I still can't shake it off.  They are currently chasing me to buy more light bulbs because I bought some a few weeks ago.

It probably works on a cookie, so you'll need to allow the browser to permanently store Amazon cookies, to enable your preferences to be saved.  If it 'resets' itself, it's probably because the cookie has been removed.

Thanks Simon.  I never sign in to my Amazon account on this netbook so I should be browsing anonymously.  Perhaps Chrome was spilling the beans about my fondness for Sean the Sheep?

I use Chrome to the exclusion of all other browsers and so does Mrs Clive who used to be a Firefox avid.  Chrome has obviously bowed to pressure about tracking and that can now be turned off.  The only problem I had was with Amazon because I hatee being bombarded with adverts for items which they know I am interested in buying.
