Singer Joe Cocker, best known for his cover of the Beatles' With A Little Help From My Friends, has died aged 70.
The singer song-writer from Sheffield had a career lasting more than 40 years with hits including You Are So Beautiful and Up Where We Belong.
His agent Barrie Marshall confirmed that he had died of an undisclosed illness.
He said he was "simply unique" and "it will be impossible to fill the space he leaves in our hearts."

That's very sad. It was lung cancer. I liked him, and his last album was probably one of the best he'd ever made. He didn't sound well in his most recent interviews, and I think he knew his time was limited, as he talked about the album possibly being his last. He did a European tour last year and his last concert was as the Hammersmith Odeon.

Absolutely!

Was it at Glastonbury or Woodstock where he had his finest moment? I have both somewhere on VHS, but nothing to play them on.

I believe it was Woodstock.

I was round at a friend's earlier and she had one of the music channels on the telly. It was showing the great man singing Up Where We Belong with Jennifer Warnes. We both agreed that Joe looked like someone you might see on the Jeremy Kyle Show, while Ms Warnes looked like his Social Worker!

We've kept a VHS player although we rarely use it.
