Post by: Whiskas on November 29, 2002, 19:54
Even now and then my screen starts to shake. Any ideas what is causing this?

Are you near Durham?   ;D ;D

Seriously, Whiskers, can you be any more specific?  How often does it happen?  Does it happen at random, or when you are doing something in particular?

Also, do you keep your mobile phone near your PC screen?  That would do it, as every so often your phone receives a signal, and this can cause distortion for a couple of seconds on your PC screen.   :)

Oi, Whiskas!  I grew up in Co. Durham, so that can't be right.  ::)

I'm told that another good way to make your monitor shake is to stand it on top of the washing machine (whatever one of them is).  8)

Whiskas was that the cause of your purple lines and distortion as well from a few weeks back?
Or have you still got it?

Speaking of mobiles near PCs,I have been advised never to install programs when a mobile is near the PC as it sends a signal out ( Not sure about " in " Simon ) every few seconds which can cause problems with the installation  :-*

Well, I've never really thought about whether the signal is 'in', or 'out' - I assumed it was something from the local mast, but it does affect your PC screen, and speakers.  It also affects car radios.   :)

or as I like to say, just because I'm paranoid about the police doesn't mean they are NOT out to get me. So for that reason I've given the M-I-L my mobile phone  ::) ;D
