Post by: clam on July 24, 2003, 11:44
hi

have a problem - i only have 1 fdd it is an external fdd (usb connection) for my laptop designated 'F' drive.
but in my computer 2 fdd's show one designated 'A' and 1 designated 'F' anytime i try to install anything from floppy it always tries to install from 'A' which isn't there so the full computer hangs.

thanks

Can you access the BIOS and tell it that A drive isnt being used ,similar to most PCs where it says Drive B not installed.
Not being rich I have never had a laptop or any experience with them  ???

Do you run Windows Millennium Edition clam?

If so, this Microsoft Knowledgebase article (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;268146) may point you in the right direction :)
