Anyone know where I can buy the Sunon 80mm 84.1 CFM Banshee 3 pin fan and the AKASA PRO series fan adaptor? I was gonna buy them eventually from the overclocking store but they seased trading on the 24th :-\

the fan isn't there buta fan with identicle specs is there and £2 cheaper hmm Vantec Tornado 80mm Case Fan (http://overclock.co.uk/customer/product.php?productid=16669&cat=281&page=1) and I couldn't find the adaptor

All overclocking sites load slow for me, maybe it's because they spend all their money on overclocking equipment and less on their servers? :D

Assuming you mean the 9980 ATX, that looks a nice case, Tony. 400w PSU included! I'm sorely tempted to buy a case from somewhere, just so it will sit there and say "Fill me, fill me!"

Yes that is a cool case, and very Sussex man ;D nar I was meaning the CJ06: ATX Midi. Beige is to computers what white is to bathroom suites, everything else eventually becomes avacado ;D

Ah, but unless they decided not to say, that one doesn't come with a PSU, Tony, which makes it a little dearer. At least you would have your own choice of PSU though.

I'd rather get a case minus PSU so you can choose a decent one.
Most cases usually come with only a 300 or a 400(450 PSU in if you re really lucky).
Theres a firm near me that had some nice cases in but the biggest PSU was a 400,I asked if it was possible to get them with the nice gold 550 PSU that they sold and they said they could do that and just charge the difference between the lesser one and the 550 so that wasnt bad as it would be annoying to have a perfectly good 400 watt PSU just thrown in a corner gathering dust and to have to pay for another PSU. ::)

Sandra why do you need a 550 watt PSU, I'm on a 300watt PSU and I have had no problems whats so ever, so I term 350 watt as over speced but comfy. ;D
I'm running AMD XP 2000+, 2x dual head graphics cards,1x 56KB modem, 1x ISDN card, 2x extra case fans
Well Parcel Force delivered at 9.11am today Friday, components ordered around 1.00am Thursday morning. I find Dabs standared £4.50 handeling/delivery charge is pretty good value. But I will certainly try out CCL for my next PC commision ;D maybe with the exception of motherboards, as Dabs have greater choice, I loove having choices :)

That's a valid point, Sandra, but how many people actually need a 550w PSU? Mine is only 350w, and serves me perfectly well. If I were to start a new project, I would possible go for a 400 if it came with the case, but I can't see a need to go much higher than that.

A 400watt PSU is fine for AMD CPUS up to around the XP2600 but you are reaching the limit as,compared to the INTEL CPUs,they need more power.
If you are contemplating upgrading at a later date to above a 3.2ghz CPU (who knows how fast they are going to get in a few months)and are running a lot of bus powered USB devices which can take up to 500 milliamps each then you will soon find that a 400 watt supply is working at 100% or near to it.
I for one would rather have a 550 watt supply running at around 78% capacity than a 400 watt running at 100% for the sake of a few more pounds :doggie:

Forgot to say...
I had a 140W PSU with my 500Mhz Celeron. When I got a new case it had a 300W PSU in it, when I swapped round all the components and started my PC it loaded in about 1/4 the time :D Course one month after it kinda fried :S

Hello...I'm glad I'm still alive to write this. I'm in the process of building a whole new rig and have been ordering pieces as at a time. Tuesday I got my case ( Skyhawk Mini-server tower ), my PSU ( Antec TrueBlue480 ), and my Nexus Fan Speed Controller. ( which rules )
Today I got the 4 fans that I ordered, 1 for the HeatSink, 1 for the rear, and 2 for the intake. Well I got 4....yes 4 of the Sunon 80mm 84.1 cfm fans...I figured "Hey, I could never have too much power." ( not to mention the case has 2 side fans which are low powered blue led fans ).
Anyway.....I'm always hearing how loud these are, so I decide to plug two into my computer and hold them in my hands.......... PowerUP.....and VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM the friggin fans moved in my hand....and made the noise of an apache helicopter. As I'm trying to hold myself back from spinning in a circle and keeping the papers on my desk, I decide to take a closer look at one of them...........SSSSSSLICCCCCEEEE.....my thumb accidentally gets too close to the other one and SQUIRT.....out pooooors the blood. PowerOFF.........and off to grab some tissues to stop the bleeeeeeee.............
About an hour later I woke up in a small pool of blood with those two fans just staring at me......it was like they were just staring at me in victory...as though this is what they are made to do. So now I'm gonna have 4 Apache Helicopters in my new box that are out to get me.
Well....to tame these War Choppers, I hooked 2 of them up to the Vantec Fan Speed controller......and turned them down to where they don't sound so bad. So I decided to keep em, and I'll just crank em up to ludicrous speed when I'm doing some serious overclockin.
So I'm hear to share my experience and say that I'm glad I made it, and was able to tame the 4 wild beasts.
I'm not at all a clumsy person...I just wasn't paying close enough attention. So all of you out there....b careful with these biatches.....and knowing is half the battle.

That adaptor isn't the one I'm looking for though :( It a flat acrylic one I'm after, that adaptor would make my fan stick out the side of the case it looks that big :)
I'm probably going to invest in some sound proofing before I buy these 2 items anyway, it's just I don't want to have to change the heatsink but my 2000XP is still quite hot, since I got the new new heatsink and fan my heatsink is always round about 40 - 50 degrees (I have sensors on my tower for it ;D), plus my new GFX card needs good airflow :)
I'm not really looking for overclocking since I wouldn't be able to afford any more equipment if I fried any of my current stuff but thanks for the link anyway :)
