For some reason the spellchecker does not work on outlook express, have Microsoft Publisher installed which has a dictionary.
OS is Wnxp home, the same pogs are on the win98 system and work ok. Help Please. :aarrgh:

Hi Mustapha, I'm sure that someone with a bit of common sense will come along soon, but meanwhile have a look at this site which says:
http://www.tech-pro.co.uk/index.html
If you are running Windows XP and are also using Microsoft Office 97, you may find that spell checking does not work in Outlook Express 6.0. When you try to spell check a message, you receive the message "an error occurred whilst the spelling was being checked". The cause of this problem is a missing file which Outlook Express requires.
Solution
Obtain a copy of the file csapi3t1.dll and place it in the folder "Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Proof".
Copies of this file may be extracted from the file mailnews.cab in an Internet Explorer 5.0 or 5.5 distribution set, the file win98_27.cab on a Windows 98 CD, or the file Win_10.cab on a Windows Me CD.
A copy may also be downloaded by clicking on this link.
Note: the spell checker will only work if you have a recent version of Microsoft Office. You didn't really expect Microsoft to support spell checkers in competitors' Office packages, did you?

Cheers Clive, looks like Bill Gates has done the dirty again, he expect me to fork out for a new copy of Office, no chance.
Rather go without the spellchecker than line his pockets. ;D ;D

Have a look at this Mustapha:

Absolutely Simon. Besides, we sometimes have to let Sandra get her beauty sleep don't we? ;D
-
Yes, especially now she has an admirer! ;) :-X ;D ;D
-
Lucky Sandra, go for it. ;D
Enough of this banter i got another problem, for some reason outlook express is not listed in the default setup in explorer, it's just a blank where the e-mail prog should be.
Have checked outlook express and it is the default ptogram.
Symptons are any e-mail links on websites do not work and ib explorer the read mail icon does nothing.
O/S is winxp home.
Help again please. :help:
-
I couldn't possibly tread on Sandra's toes again Mustapha so I will let her reply. (only because I don't know the answer) ;D

Wimp, Clive. ;D ;D

Mustapha, this from the MS Knowledge Base might point you in the right direction:

Hi Mustapha,I was going to suggest that you in IE you go to TOOLS then INTERNET OPTIONS and then ADVANCED and then select restore defaults as it sounds as if something has been altered in the settings, but it looks like Simons found something that may sort it :)
The other thing that it may be is that your popup stopper(if you run one) may be stopping the mail window from opening ???
-
Done all that Simon and no luck, although I.E now shows O.E in the default mail window.
Switched off me stopper Sandra but no luck.
And i have rebooted :(
Bloody XP 98 was so much easier ;D ;D
Early night Sandra!!!

I decided it was time for lunch at around 8-50 pm Mustapha and then watched a film ;)
