Title: Is Electrical Tape Safe..
Post by: Robotochan on October 25, 2003, 16:21
Would electrical tape (the black stuff) be safe to put round molex cables to tidy them up? Nothing in my PC is over 40C that any Molex cable goes near, so I wouldn't have thought it a problem...

Why not use the small cable ties you can get from PC retailers, or somewhere like Maplins?

Don't know why I missed this one  ;D.

Robot, go to any fishing tackle shop or even a good electrical retailer and ask for some heat shrink tubing, I use it all the time when I build fishing rods or at work we use it to tidy up electrical cables...just put a hair dryer on it and watch it shrink to fit all cables, its just what you want.

An alternative is to use some spiral cable wrap that is available from Maplin (http://www.maplin.co.uk) and will tidy cables up nicely

Hope this helps
