Hi Guy,
Yet another on going problem I wonder if you can help with ......... is that my screen sometimes goes a bit darker and a bit reddy? Thats the best I can explain it.
It started off just doing it for a second now and then, so I just ignored it, (like you do) but just lately its been staying like that for longer and doing it more often, is it finally going to go like that forever or is there a setting wrong ?
I've only had the monitor since xmas,it was a present. I can't see a make on it? Its an TFT though ........ (wait for the I told you so's) Think I've got the box in the loft so that'll prob say what it is.
Any idea's Guys Please?
Don't know if this helps but I found the make on line.

I wouldnt have thought that it was a problem on the pc Michelle, more likely to be the monitor itself.
If it was a traditional CRT monitor then I would have said that it sounded like a dry joint but I havent a clue on TFT ones.
Have you got the receipt as it may be as well getting it exchanged while its still inside the guarantee period ???
-
Hmmm I think you are right sandra cos it is getting worse but I was hoping that maybe something I'd done had effected it.
I might be able to get hold of the receipt though.
Thanks Sandra for your advice.

Before you go to the trouble of getting a replacement, Michelle, you could just check the connection from the monitor into the back of the PC. They have been known to come adrift, which can result in your exact symptoms, on a CRT, so I would imagine a TFT could still suffer the same.
-
The connection, you mean the plug right, well oddley enough it wasn't in that tight and I could screw up the screws on the side. You think it could be just that?? :o :-[ ;D
-
I would say you've definitely got a screw loose, Shell. (https://www.pc-pals.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hogarth-hq.com%2Fsmileys%2Felectric.gif&hash=90b1fad44d801862cc5409809c8a0c80afc4464e)
-
Not the first time thats been said rodders ;)
-
Have you tried wiggling it about?
-
Yes often, its nice ........... oh the plug, yes I've wiggled and push and screwed it now and fingers crossed its not done it since. ;D I'm shocked if thats what it is, but pleased as punch if it is. ;)
-
Well, the screws on the side of the connector are there to be screwed, Michelle! ;) See if that makes it any better. I have a sneaking feeling it just might. ;D ;D
Edit: Can someone swap these last two posts around?
-
Oh, we're back to the bl**dy monitor again, are we? ;D
-
Well and truly screwed now :P ;) ;D

You've just been screwing, what ya complaining about?
-
shhhh don't tell everyone, I was going for the sympathy vote ;D
-
Funnily enough my Sky picture was freezing up last week and it was caused by a slightly loose scart plug too. ;D
-
Well the screwing didn't help. ::) :( :(
Its just gone funny again, there is something lose somewhere cos it happened when I knocked my desk.
Should I try more screwing ? :P
Looks like sandra is right again ......... shhhh don't tell her though hehehehe
-
You've obviously got some more screwing to do, Michelle. ::) Is there another similar connector into the back of the monitor, or is it just a lead that comes out? Failing that, er, I dunno! Perhaps take out the one you screwed the other night, and screw it in again? Other than that, it sounds like a loose connection somewhere else, if it happened when you knocked the desk, but Sandra could be right, and it could be inside the monitor. :P
-
If its fastened in securely at each end Michelle then try flexing the cable a little all the way from the PC end to the monitor end. It may be a broken wire or a bad internal connection at either plug :(
-
Okay what I'll do is take it completely off have a little look at it, and then put it all back tightly and see if that does it.
Oh no more screwing ::) :P ;)
-
You know you love it! :P :D :D
-
