A DVD burner will probably come with the software to enable it to do so or, if you have a DVD player for your TV that will play photo vcds, then an ordinary cd writer and the appropriate software such as Nero will do it.
Its burning software, not any other specialist software that you need, as long as you have scanned the photos into your pc or downloaded them from your camera into it and are hapy with the photos as they are.
If you want to alter them in anyway then you would need Paint Shop Pro or a similar "paint" program  :)

If you have the photos saved as jpegs on your hard drive you can burn them to cd with nero as sandra says.  If you set up to burn a vcd and drag over the jpeg files (instead of mpeg1 files for vcd) you can get up to 1800 files on to a disc which should then play on most standalone dvd players.

Thanks, I don't have Nero and I'll have to check the manual on my dvd player to see if it'll play vcd's.

Most cd burning software will do it Maria, not just Nero  :)
