My wife has just been given a new and very smart mobile phone, making her old one redundant. Her old one is marginally more attractive than mine which I have to keep covered with a paper bag in case people laugh at it. If I purloin her old one to pretend I'm slightly cool can I just swap simcards over? Mine is a PAYG and I have £50 of calls left which could last me another 10 years at the rate I use it. ;D

Try it and see Clive. As long as it isnt locked to the network she was on it will work (assuming your sim is on a different network to hers,if its the same theres no problem)
There are lots of places that will unlock it for a small fee (perfectly legally) if its necessary :-*

I would agree with Sandra. Try it and see, Clive. :)

Thanks Sandra. All 3 phones are on the Orange network so it could be looking good. She has to learn how to use her new one first before the swapping of the simcards ceremony. ;D

I know it works OK with Cellnet/O2 Clive ;)

Simcards are now swapped and her new phone is on charge. It will be tested soon. It has blueteeth whatever they are. Mrs Clive is very excited about it. I wish I understood. Women are so technilogical.

Just because its a bluetooth one Clive it doesnt mean that you have to get the Macleans out ;)

Bluetooth is for when you are using your mobile as an internet connection from your laptop or sending something to somebody else phone. For example, if you were sending something to your friend in the next room bluetooth is able to bend or bounce to your friend. It can be used from around 10 metres away.
It doesn't matter if your phone is a pay as you go or contract as long as the sim is for the same network it will work unless there is a sim lock on it

Mrs Clive seems to actually understand all that stuff and I find that to be quite frightening in itself. ;D There was a time when I was the technology king in this household but I now bow to female superiority. ;D Thank you for your simple explanation Whiskas. ;D
