Title: Insert CD message

After installing a game called half life, when trying to run the game i get a message to insert the CD when it is already there. The game is on an original disk, i have tried installing on the D ( DVD ) drive and the E ( CD ) drive. The game is for Windows 95/98 but i am running XP. Could this be the problem, and can i fix it ?
