Hi Guys :wave:
I have a strange problem regarding a blue screen that appears when I boot up after the PC has been idle for a time. It says it is "dumping physical memory" sometimes it counts to 100 and reboots itself, sometimes not and I have to manually reboot :-\ I would appreciates any advice on how to stop it appearing in the 1st place :)

Uninstall Kazza immediately ::)

Gawd dont start them all off San :-X its KaZaA Lite I have and I run ad-adware and spybot almost daily
-
Sounds like Hibernation mode ::)

Serenity, Sandra may be talking tongue-in-cheek, she could be right. I installed a program called Music Match last year, and immediately after, I kept getting the "dumping physical memory" message. I got rid of Music Match and I haven't seen the message since. :)

Try this Serenity....
1. Control Panel, System
2. Click on the Advanced tab
3. Under "Startup and Recovery" click on Settings.
4. Change "Write Debugging Information" to "none".
5. Apply/OK and reboot if prompted.
hope it helps.. 8)

Thanks Cammy, I have followed that :) as this is an intermittent fault I wont know for sure if what you suggested works for a few days but fingers crossed,
Dave, they all scream at me for having KaZaA but I switched to the Lite version and I quite like that program, if the problem persists though I may well have to think of deleting it (before anyone says, I didnt like WinMx ;))
Thanks again guys for the advice :-*

Dave I had a marathon session on the phone with her as we reinstalled XP a few weeks ago and it was running fine.
After someone installed Kazza it started having problems.
Coincidence (cue music from the twilight zone) ???

If you want to find out for sure what is causing the problem, there should be an entry in the System (or Application ??? )event log.
You will find the Event Log Viewer in Control Panel | Administrative Tools :)
