Title: Windows Update problems/issues?
Post by: PhilTheFish on January 06, 2004, 21:15
Hello,

I've noticed over the last week or so that when I first start up my PC and connect to the net, my hard drive keeps running constantly for about 5-10 minutes. It did it again tonight so in the middle of it I pressed CTRL ALT DEL to see what was running. The only program in the list I didn't recognise was WUAUBOOT. I did a quick search on google and found that this was Microsoft autoupdate. I also came across a discussion group where someone had posted saying that they had experienced the same problem since 23 Dec (similar time to when it started on my PC) and they thought Microsoft were doing some kind of inventory on his PC?

Anyone having similar issues? (I'm running windows ME)

Phil

There was certainly a security update for XP issued about that time Phil but I haven't experienced any problems with it myself.  There are several Me users on the forum so it will be interesting to hear from them.
