Title: Sky+
Post by: DJ on January 07, 2004, 17:52
:hi:

I recently bought Sky+ after seeing this thread (http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=Urgents;action=display;num=1071684582) on another forum on how to get it cheaper.  Waiting for installation in Feb.

My question is has anyone already got it or got an opinion on Sky+.  Some people I know say its changed their lives - I think thats going a bit too far :P but heard that its a clever bit of kit.

So then own up - whos already got Sky+ ?

Isnt it expensive for what you get ?
A friend had it on a trial last year and he loved it.
When the trial finished they wanted about £300 for the box plus another tenner a month on top of his subscription if I remember correctly  :(
If I could afford it I would get one of those Kiss dvd players with ethernet that I was recommending to Clive and get another sat box connected to my pc and use that instead then it would do the same as sky plus and a dvd recorder and so much more  :)

The link above shows you how to get a 'refurbished' box for £99 + £1 installation (includes 1 year warranty).  But when I ordered was told that the refurbished boxes had run out so they will give you a brand new box intead! Been told offer runs out Jan 16th.

You only need to pay £10 extra a month if you don't subscribe to a top sky package - we already do so total cost of only £100, instead of £249 as its advertised (£199 for box £50 for installation).

Bargain I say! Can't wait to try it out.  ;D

Is it possible to export programmes you have recorded on a Sky+ box?

Only via the analogue outputs to an external DVD/HDD recorder, Gill.
