Hi all,
Not sure if anyone can help but here goes....We run an Exchange 2000 server which we use to email our opted-in customers with offers etc. The problem I am having is that even though we set this mass mailing (around 5000 individual email addresses) to "low priority" and all other day to day email to "high priority" the day to day emails get delayed behind the mass mailing - all apprears fine with high priority messages being sent first to the "categorizer" but then the whole thing jams up and all messages are delayed for up anything up to 8 hours. Any ideas how we can prioritise how messages are dealt with in the "categorizer"?

Anyone? :'( :'( :'( :-\

Perhaps no one uses them, Jon. Or maybe our techies are doing some research? I'm sure someone will get back to you soon. ;)

Thanks for the re-assurance :)

Sorry Jon but I havent any idea on how to sort this one :(
What happens if you remove all priorities, not ideal maybe but at least they may all go without crashing it ???

Had a word with our IT department today and they suggested the problem might be down to the fact the categorizer is picking up the distribution list as one job (instead of 5000 sepearate and therefore interuptable ones).
If it is that then you need to change the system that generates the mails.
If you switch on the logging and have a look at what it thinks it's trying to process then you may see whats causing the logjam.
