Title: format harddisk definition

Dear sir/madam:

some computer professors told me that format PC's harddisk had difference definition, used winxp disk to format is not able to be formated completely. There are some tail leave in the harddisk and it may cause some problems occurs such as certain programs can not be run normally as formated before, is there everyone tech me to format the computer again completely that can erase all the information in the harddissk, Thanks.
