Title: Old photos of your town
Post by: Clive on February 03, 2004, 20:52
If you enjoy looking at old photos dating back 50 - 100 years, then you will almost certainly find a collection from your town in this website.  It's a shame that they have overprinted each one so heavily with their logo as I feel it spoils the pictures quite a bit.

Yeah, it's a shame about the logos, but it does stop people pinching the pics!   ;)

That's a brilliant site.  Shame about the logo though.   :(

:thanks:  Clive.

Hookstar.  I've been watching that Keele site, since I heard  it mentioned on Radio 4 last week.  Hope we don't have to wait much longer.  :(

The searchable catalogue will be launched in the future at a time when we can more accurately predict sustainable levels of demand and install appropriately sized hardware and software to fulfil this. We apologise for the inconvenience

While I have managed to view some of the pictures by clicking on "Image Shop", I certainly can't find five million.  Seems a little silly launching something before it works.  ???  Perhaps it's sponsored by Microsoft.
