Not my problem for once
« on: October 30, 2004, 20:00 »
Hi all

a friend of mine has asked for help so he really must be desperate.

He has bought a new hard drive to install along with windows XP.
He reckons that his original setup had his cd writer as primary master, the h-d as primary slave and he isnt sure whether his dvd drive was secondary master or slave.  Anyway i told him to put the new h-d in as primary master, his dvd as secondary master and cd writer as secondary slave.  He did this but had to remove the processor, memory and power supply to do it.  Guess what  ;D  when he boots up now all he gets is an eight second beep about every four seconds...i've checked the error post codes on the PHOENIX site but all the codes seem more complex than this.  He says the mobo is a microstar.  Any ideas.  Personally i think he has zapped the processor, but any input would be welcome
