Topic: HELP---> BOOT PROBLEM

I got a problem with my PC, you turn the power botton on and it gets to the windows xp screen then it just freezes at a black screen. if you restart over and over it will do the same but if you leave it on the blank screen for about 10-20 mins then restart it will boot up fine. just woundering if anybody knows what is wrong.

I have formatted many time and installed different version of windows and cheked the ram. Ive had this problem for about a year now.

Athlon 650mhz
ATI Rage Pro 32mb
384mb RAM
20gb HD

also my dvd drive wont play dvd's or games on DVD's only cds??

Hi Suicidal and , nice name by the way, I often feel like that when faced with some pc problems

Youre running a fairly low spec pc for games and playing DVDs.
I had a 500 athlon in a few weeks back that wouldnt play DVD films on the latest power dvd 5 and had to find an earlier version before it would play without running slow or stopping every few seconds.
Which DVD prog are you using ?
Could you afford to get a better GFX card, the 128mb ones arent that dear these days ?
