Crikey - it's years since I heard anyone mention The Wedding Present.  Their Ukranian version of Anarchy in the UK was fabulous.

How on earth can anyone declare Jethro Tull to be synonomous with folk rock?  Surely bands like Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span and Oysterband have got far stronger claims?

And as for Sweet being the epitome of glam rock... you'd have to overlook Wizzard, T Rex, David Bowie and quite a few others.

The Sweet were more a cross over of glam / heavy rock, and were my favourite group of the 70s, next to Queen.  They moved away from their glam image, when they stopped using Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman as their songwriting team, and started to write their own, much stronger, material.
