Lesson 1: Before re-installing Windows, make sure you have all the drivers for your hardware! :wink:
If you go into Device Manager (right click My Computer (Desktop icon) > Manage > Device Manager), the card should be listed, but with a :!: next to it, and if you right click it, and select Properties, it might give you a clue as to the make and model.
Failing that, he could try taking the card out, and if he's lucky, it might have a make and model number printed on it somewhere.
Failing that, again, he could try a utility such as
Belarc Advisor, which might give some more info as to the hardware installed.
