BSOD
« on: January 14, 2007, 20:42 »
please feel free to move this if its not in the right place.

Okay ........

So since I got the new modem I had a few errors on IE which pointed to the ucb driver on the cable modem webstar epc2100 needing updating and since I had not done anything apart from plug it in that sounded like it could be the problem. Wasn't too bothered as it was only when I closed IE and it would start up again as normal without restarting the computer but I downloaded the new drivers ready.

Then I got utorrent and since then I have had 2 blue screens which say......... driver IRQL not equal or erm something.......blah blah something about new hardware, 000000d1 - I've had a look around the internet and it could still be that driver could it?

Trouble is every time I delete the old driver it finds it again without me doing anything, unless this time it has worked as there are no problems at the moment and I am purposely downloading on utorrent.

Its a bit erractic isn't it for a driver problem? Also in devices there are no problems.

If it happens again go to the device manager and double click on your modem.
Then in properties select update driver and browse for the new ones that you downloaded.
Hopefully that will fix it.

Okay thanks Sandra, I'm sure I tried that and it said there were no other drivers better than I'd got. Although I don't think I browsed.

Hiya  8-)

Well it all seemed fine for 2 days no problems until last night I though I'd test downloading all night on my profile, as thats when it went once before - I turned everything else off and just left on the utorrent - son woke up this morning to a blue screen, he turned it of and on again and went on to his name and no messages came up no probs, although he didn't go on internet.

Logged on to my name and it came up with message.

It said recovered from error on scientific atlanta webstar 2100 modem - Brc code 10000d1 bcp1 00000006 bcp2 00000002 bcp3 0000000  bcp4 f7304504

did a search on that can't find anything much.

updated the driver it says i have the most updated one, SAcm2k.sys

I read somewhere that someone had a conflict with the webstar and the 1394 net adaptor (whats this for?)  and to disable that? It was enabled so maybe it could be? What do you think?

Any idea's please?
