Tony, digital cameras in general, absolutely eat batteries, so get yourself a charger and a couple of sets of NiMh cells.  A charger for 4xAA's, complete with 4 NiCad AA batteries, set me back about 8 quid in Dixons.  A set of 4 NiMh AA cells costs around a fiver in Asdas.  Do it.

I have one of these Kodak digital camera's with it's own docking thingy. It sits on charge by the PC and very seldom does it run out of charge.
It's also one button transfer and all your pictures are loaded instantly on to the PC. The only thing to remember is to delete pics you have already transfered or you get the same ones time after time being transferred. I'm still learning all the features that the camera has. I take rubbish pictures so it's great being able to delete all the rubbishy ones.

Update:

No probs since taking Rodders advice, I bought two sets of NI-MH 1300mHa. I'm still on the first set first charge and it going fine. Still a crap camera but for £30 what do you expect.

How you dong with yours Simon ?

I'm not really using it much Tony.  I'm actually hoping to get a half decent one (Toshiba) off a mate for a reasonable price.

Not exactly - it was part pf a PC package that is not needed, as they already have one.

Well I got myself a Cannon PowerShot A40, and I made sure I got a set of rechargeable batteries to go with it. I really do think manufacturers should include them as part of the camera package

If manufacturers provided them with most battery-operated devices, there would be less of a toxic legacy going into landfill for our descendants to deal with later.
