New search engine launched
« on: September 11, 2007, 21:24 »
A new search engine that gives you the chance to win prizes every time you search the web has launched.

Called Wabbadabba, the search engine awards up to 15 prizes per day at random. The prizes range from Amazon vouchers to TVs.

No pre-registration is required and you'll only have to enter personal details if you win something.

"We aim to add a bit of fun to a task that has become a part of everyday life for most people who use a computer either at work or at home ? with the average person typically doing 10 - 12 searches a day, that's a lot of chances to win," said Ben Akin-Smith of Wabbadabba.

You can also invite your friends to use the search engine - and if anyone you invite wins a prize, you will win one too.

Nice one Bob.  I've been in the Internet ever since it started up but I hadn't heard of iwon.com either!   :D

Geez, they had their commercials on for several years straight. That was right before the dotcom bubble popped. When i first got on the internet in grade school it was the first site i remember putting in the address bar. Then i searched for ass.  :o:

Someone do me a favor and change my does to do. I was up late last night.

I don't remember iwon.com being advertised over here.  The first search engine I recall using was AltaVista after which I changed to AOL.  I replaced that with Yahoo but when Google came along I was smitten.   ;D

Similar pattern here, Clive, and I don't remember any ads either. We take Google for granted these days, but forget how much it changed the way we use the web.
Slainthe!
