Is there any possibility that you could borrow someone elses mouse to see how it works on your computer Big Boss?  At least it would point you in the right direction.

Just a thought ... did you check for an updated driver?

Yup, i kind of told a white lie. I couldnt find the floppy driver disk so i downloaded the drivers from the website

I think you've exhausted all of the software related problems David. Perhaps it's time for Big_Boss to get out his screwdriver and have a poke about inside the mouse? (With the proviso that if it never works again , it's not our fault )

Hmm dont really fancy the "screwdriver" aspect of it myself. The violence part doesnt sound that bad   not that im that type of person. Ive had the moue for ages though so i think it might be past it. I dont want to get a new one though as im a big gamer and i love the mouse

The 1330 is a combo mouse so comes with the little green plug for usb, have you tried connecting it direct to usb aswell as ps2?
I know MS opticals have a problem that is solved when connected int he USB instead, plus theres always a possibilty that the ps2 port is buggered, this would prove it for you.
