Nostalgia ain't what it was, but if you fancy reliving the online experience of 2001, then Google can help you out.
The company has made an old search index, which it used some seven years ago, available online as part of its 10th birthday celebrations.
"Hidden in a corner beneath Larry's and Sergey's original lab coats, we found a vintage search index in mint condition. We dusted it off and took it for a spin, gobsmacked to see how different the web was in early 2001," said Shirin Oskooi of Google.
With the help of the Internet Archive, Google has also included links to the sites as they were back then.
As Oskooi points out, there was no YouTube in January 2001 and Wikipedia had only just been created.
