YouTube members can now upload videos of up to 2GB in size to the video-sharing website.
The move is intended to enable more members upload high-definition content to their channels.
"We're happy to announce that the size of standard uploads has doubled from 1GB to 2GB," said YouTube's Ryan Junee.
"The increase means you can upload longer videos at a higher resolution as well as large HD files directly from your camera," Junee continued.
However, the videos are still subject to time limits - something which is unpopular among many members of the site's community.
"Can you please allow the uploading of videos that are longer than 10 minutes for normal accounts?" one member wrote.
YouTube is currently facing a revolt from its community over the roll-out of Channels 2.0.
