Seriously guys, if you haven't got one of these you should take a look at them. I bought the TS109 with a 1tb hd and it has been awesome.

thanks for your help everyone!!! much appreciated!

I've looked at them before - but I've always had a server running so never bothered, though probably would in the future - I'd probably go for one that was also able to pump out video to a monitor.

Glad you got it all working!

thanks mate...its got its own ram onboard and also has a great admin which allows you to create users and folder shares. I have streamed movies directly from it. I love the bittorrent on it which I can access from any location adding torrents to it. Superb piece of kit!!!

I've got some software that lets me run torrents like that - revolutionises the art of downloading! :-D

nice, downloading heaven then! :-D

Have you set it up so that you can access it from outside your home network? I used to have a linux machine setup todo that - great when you are at work and decide you wanna grab something to watch for later. I even had a mate use is iphone to connect to it and add a download.

Thanks Simon.

Yeh I have set it up so that I can access it outside securely. I even have a drive set up at work connected via FTP, works brilliantly. I have a routine back up to another drive once a week and it even has the ability to back up to a remote location. Love it, just wish I knew how to use it all!
