Although not particularly suffering from too much spam, I know some people here have said they get up to  200  a day.

As well as Mailwasher, I use a handy little program called e-prompter ( http://www.eprompter.com ) to notify me when e-mails are waiting. They can then be deleted from the server.  It hides in the system tray, supports up to 16 accounts (including hotmail) and uses vitually no resourses. The best thing about it is that, although it is basically a notification program and is not meant to replace your e-mail client, it is possible to send e-mails through it using its own built-in generic smtp server. This is invaluable in an emergency when your usual smtp server is down and you have a vital e-mail to send. I just copy it to the clipboard and paste it into the e-prompter compose screen.

Tip:  When setting up, don't forget to put a tick in the box  "Read Mail Headers Only".
