Free Utilities

These look like they could be useful, especially Fresh Diagnosis.

http://www.freshdevices.com/

P.S. If you want a good freak out, go to the Benchmark section, and test your Display Adapter!

Edit:  Please be aware, it appears that downloading from this site requires an e-mail address, which may result in unwanted spam mail being sent to that address.  Sorry folks, I didn't know this when I posted the link.  You can download the software from ZDNet.co.uk, without giving an e-mail address.  I just did.  Now checking for spyware, and will report back if I find any.

Further edit:  No spyware detected.

Whatever you do download nothing, because you will be plagued with spam mail. Made that mistake some time ago and regreted it.

Well, surely you don't have to use your real name and e-mail address?  ;)  I actually downloaded Fresh Diagnosis from ZDNet.co.uk, and I wasn't asked for an e-mail address.

If you have the kind of email account where you can have <anyname>@<your isp>.co.uk or whatever, it is often useful to use a different email address for each company you deal with.

That way you know that when spam turns up for xyzco@<your isp>.co.uk, you know who has sold on your email address to the spammers and can take appropriate action i.e. bouncing all mail to that email address.

Already, too late for me.

I hesitated at the begining to give them my e-mail. Because I noticed that they have a softwear which is proposing you tings about spying. On the other hand, they are not giving you the possibility to download without giving your e-mail. Why? And even if you download their programs, you can't use them without the code that you will receive by mail. Sites like that I don't like usually. I don't like at all their spam in these matters. But, as they are proposing other programs which look very important and interesting, I thought that it seams that Simon knows them. He would not advice us something like that.

As soon as I sent my e-mail adress to let them send me the key codes, I received their mail. Immediately, and accompanying the codes mails, they sent me two porno sites with my name.

It's too late. I'll try their programs to see if they are worthy really. I hope they didn't get my e-mail for giving me just the  SSS***  ***TTT.
