Is that when you connect to Kazaa Serenity ?
It sounds like ZA is blocking access to it so you may need to configure it to allow it to connect :dogpile:

It's probably that 'Points' thing, Bev, and your firewall is blocking it, which is why it's complaining.  If you now have Kazaa Lite, I'm not sure if you still need it, but equally not sure how you can get rid of it.  Just kill it with the Task Manager, like we did before (Ctrl+Alt+Del).  I'm sure Sean will know if you can permanently exterminate it.   ;D

Excuse my ignorance, but am I right in thinking Kazaa is a file sharing program. And as such with programs like that, you have no way of verifying if the file source is free of virus/worms. Meaning you could possibly be downloading a can of worms?

Having never been tempted by the delights :o of Kazaa, I have no idea whether it is safe to remove the P2P or the points program.

I suppose if you uninstall them and Kazaa Lite doesn't work afterwards, you can always re-install it ???

Thats about as good an expression as you can use for that virus riddled stuff, especially seeing as warts are caused by a virus too Serenity  ::)

The only way to verify that downloaded files from Kazaa or Kazaa Lite are virus / trojan free, is to individually virus scan each and every file you download.  However, and I stand to be corrected here,  I seem to recall reading somewhere that MP3 files can't carry viruses.  Can someone confirm that?  Even if that is true, it should be said that downloading music files is illegal, and PC Pals cannot recommend such activities.    :P ;) ;D

The problem with Kazaa is that many viruses carried by it are disguised as music files, but if you look carefully they carry the extension mp3.vbs.

A very dangerous program - the womb for all viruses.

I find that the newsgroups tend to be better anyways. Also if someone has taken the time to upload a file its usually a real one (currently downloading FN-CD1-AC3.avi  ::) )
hey promised the earth! Then delivered mud.
Technically it did meet the spec.
