« on: September 06, 2003, 12:49 »
There is a special deal on at blankdiscshop this weekend where the 4x NEC 1300 writer is going for £99.98 plus postage.

Supports both + and - formats but doesn't support DVD-RAM.

Yes, that model is on offer at a number of places, Ebuyer to name but one.  I was considering it myself, but was starting to wonder what's wrong with it, and how close a better version is round the corner.

Should I also mention that p+p is only 99p if you spend over £30 :)

You will need to update the firmware to use all the disc types though (as there were problems with Princo dye discs on the first version....firmware link on the site).

Good comnpany to buy from though (had a problem a few months back with some bad discs...they said to keep them and refunded the money while I was on the phone. This was 6 weeks after buying them).

I can't deny that's a good deal, Dack.   ;)

My problem still is convicing myself that I need, and would use, a DVD writer for anything other than copying DVDs for friends, which is, of course, illegal.   :-\

Thought I'd bring this back up as they have now dropped the price to £89.98
