dont know much about laptops.. but i think you can get a wireless modem so that you could use the net on a train... battery life is important in laptops as well not to sure bout pentiums either p4 3.2 would most likey be the best but a techie should be able to tell you everything you need to know later  ;)    :welcome:

Centrino laptops are usually lighter, faster and have more battery life to them. They are also equiped with a wireless network card.  You would still need to have access to wireless internet though (Most Starbucks cafes, some McDonalds, most Airports have wireless internet access on a pay as you go basis).  You can't usually compare centrino direct to pentium 4 laptops (for example) they are designed for different things.

Hope that helps

Orange are doing a Mobile Office Data Card for about £130 + £30 a month which will give you "unlimited" wire-free connection to the Internet. But be careful, it is only really suitable for surfing and email as many ports for other services are blocked, despite advertising to the contrary.

Vodaphone are about to launch a 3G version of the Orange card, presumably with better download speeds. I haven't seen any pricing yet :-\
