PCI Graphics Card
«
on:
March 02, 2004, 21:19 »
I have (another!) friend who wants me to upgrade her PC Graphics. She has a Time / Tiny pile of
which doesn't have an AGP slot
so can anyone recommend a good PCI Graphics Card? She was going to get a GeForce Ti4200 128Mb 8X AGP for about £80, but that option is now out of the question. I was thinking of
this one
, from Dabs. Any opinions welcome.

Seems par for the course price wise Simon, just one question, prob showing my ignorance. But I notice it say's DVI, will the video signal output socket be the standared 15pin D plug or whatever they are called , or is it a digital plug connection?

Most DVI-only outputs come with a DVI/vga convertor/dongle. Check that. Otherwise they can be bought for about a fiver if you look in the right areas.

I don't want to complicate things with Dongles, can anyone confirm if this card is DVI Only?

Well, it says 1-3 days, and I don't need it till next week anyway. If they don't ship it by Monday, I'll look elsewhere, but that was the best price I found for that card.

I have the same problem with Time/Tiny and the only graphics card on a PCI I would choose is a Geforce FX5200 128MB which is around £52.00 on E-bay, Don't know whether that's any help??
