You can remove the heatsink, but it is risky:

1) its stuck with proper thermal glue. This stuff can rip the skin off a rhino if you're not carfeul when pulling.

2) you must use thermal glue to replace the heatsink so the contact is good.

Somone care to add the picture to the thread here?

What I can say is, its a red board, and has a silver heatsink : the board is quite new. Since its powered by ATI, it isn't MADE by ATI, but uses an ATI chip (or Radeon spec). There are a few different radeon drivers available, you'll have to try them all I guess?

The model number on the card says AGP, so its an AGP card, not PCI.

Thanks Sandra! :D

That IS a big heatsink! And has that picture been imaged the wrong way around? The way it is being held shows that the heatsink would be facing towards the CPU?

Anyway, that picture doesn't tell me anything other than its fairly new and up to date.
As I said before, it will be a RADEON driver - which one I can't tell, but there aren't that many radeon drivers.... just download one and try. Repeat as required.
