Which broadband would you recommend
« on: June 03, 2004, 18:46 »
We are shortly moving house (so the wife tells me) :o and at the mo get our broadband via NTL through a set top box, when we move we won't need NTL as the reception is better at the new place. So can you give advice as to whom you think I'm best going with for broadband and why? please. I await with bated (not baited Hooky) breath. ::) ;D

I would personally recommend Pipex, because it's free set up and equipment, a good, reliable service, and it's the only one I have ever used.  £23.44 per month.
Many thanks to all our members, who have made PC Pals such an outstanding success!   :thumb:

My personal preference is for NDO.  I've used them since 1998 and think the sun shines out of their servers!

They're a bit dearer than your run-of-the-mill ISP, but are extremely reliable and provide excellent support.  You also get a free .co.uk, .me.uk, or .org.uk domain name, with unlimited email aliases, chucked in for good measure.

I'd also recommend a look at pipex due to:
1. Good customer support (you can actually get through to them on the phone)
2. Good newsgroup access/retention  ::)
3. Competative pricing.
hey promised the earth! Then delivered mud.
Technically it did meet the spec.

I would recommend www.force9.co.uk or their sister company www.plus.net

I have been with these for 4 years now, never had any major problems and the support service is quick and reliable.

Basic broadband with download limits is £14.99 a normal broadband without any limits and 250mb webspace is £21.99

Just my 2p's worth  ;)

No doubt you'll be flooded with the refer a friend emails from Simon and other members  :o so if you go with plus or force9 i've got one too  :P
