Slide show in windows explorer

hi people, as per title does anyone know how to restore the slide show feature to the "MY PICTURES" folder.  i've tried view options and folder options but to no avail.  :o

Hi Dave, theres a picture tasks section at the top of the side bar just above File and Folder tasks, is yours closed ?
If so click on the double arrows and it will expand it and it has the "View as a slide show" option in that part  :)

i dont have any side bar sandra. i may have had it initially but its been spirited away.  :o

Ok Dave, I think thats easily sorted then  :)
Right click in a blank part of your pictures folder and select properties, then customise.
Select Photo Album from the drop down menu of the which type of folder part and that should restore your side bar and options, hopefully  :)

Hmmmmmm, when i select properties the only tabs are for GENERAL and SHARING.  there is no customise option.    :P

Cant understand that Dave, on mine I also have a "Customise this folder" option in the View part of the toolbar that allows me to change the folder types.
Have you not got that option either  ???

No it isnt there  ???  its not a big deal, maybe it'll just reappear.  i'm still more than happy with XP overall  ;D

Dave, you need to go to Tools > Folder Options, then select the button saying "Show common tasks in folders"  See screenshot below.   ;)

Thanks simon, i've tried that one in fact its the option i normally have it set on. i did put it back to windows classic after the option disappeared so  i'll try reverting to common tasks and see if it works then.  ::)

Sorted.... :P  closed the folders file structure pane on the left hand of the explorer window and roberts your fathers brother  ::)  thanks for all the input to the SS (sandra & simon)
