Topic: internet connection problems

I recently upgraded my xp home edition to xp pro.There was a problem installing the upgrade and microsoft and to talk me through a clean installation of the software.
  Now that I have xp pro installed,I can't seem to connect to my ISP tiscali,even though I have set up the internet connection.Any suggestions as to what might be wrong.

Its possibly your firewall, try disabling it temporarily to see if you can connect. If you can then its simply a case of configuring it to allow you to connect.
Are you on dial up or BB, cable or Adsl, using an internal or external modem or router or a USB device
