Before you go to too much expense, try cleaning the connectors if that is at all possible.  Switch everything off at the mains first though (pull the plugs out) for safety.  You can buy a special aerosol cleaning spray for only a pound or so and it's always handy to have anyway.  Incidentally, how old is the monitor?

nothing happened when i waggled it so i disconnected one end at a time (naughty i now i shouldnt do that while it is switched on as its dangerous)and it was when i undid the lead at the pc end that each colour turned up one by one, i dont think any colours were missing and green and red were there, but when i go to the colour curve green doesnt change when you move it.
hanks, hope you can help! Don x

That's not particularly old for a monitor.  Do you have a friend with a similar cable?  Perhaps you could borrow it for a few minutes to see if that works.  That could save you buying a new lead unnecessarily.

Hi BOO   :)

Yes with MODERNISH monitors the COLOUR BALANCE is controlled by a COMPUTER CHIP ( MICROPROCESSOR).   Like all COMPUTER CHIPS this can get really MUCKED UP   ???,

Since you are unable to effect a COLOUR BALANCE ADJUSTMENT from the front controls, it would suggest you have a problem with this computer chip.

The possibilities are either that it is FAULTY or maybe that its just plain MIXED UP   >:(

If the FIRST CASE then it would DEFINITELY need to be repaired by a SPECIALIST . If its the LATTER the chip can sometimes be RESET ( like a REBOOT) .

Again this is probably best left to a specialist. Although I will check around if theres any info available on a straightforward method of RESETTING the CHIP.

Sorry I can't be of MORE HELP at the MO .

Best of LUCK .

OHH ....Just an AFTERTHOUGHT  BOO  .

Try leaving the monitor DISCONNECTED from the MAINS for a few DAYS. This might reset the chip to its DEFAULT SETTINGS .

Its just a chance and you'll be without the use of it for a few days. but if it sorted you're problem it would be WORTH IT .

Best of LUCK

WEll BOO

I have located the USER MAUAL for you're MONITOR .

Its  HERE

Unfortunately it implies that you're monitor has NO user COLOUR BALANCE settings . ???

All you can do is to use the RECALL function to set it to 6 diff factory settings. This may be worth a try and the descrption how to acheive this is given in the MANUAL .

If this doesn't result in the desired effect it indicates a HARDWARE FAULT inside the monitor ,which would require the attention of an EXPERT.

Hope this is of SOME assistance to you.

Cheers
