One for pet owners
« on: March 28, 2008, 12:29 »
I know that a lot of our members are pet owners and are sometimes worried about whether you need to take your pet to the vets or if you can wait a day or two to see if it improves.
I came across this site last year and kept meaning to mention it but it was MBs tale of her cat being bitten that reminded me to post about it.
It probably wouldnt be too useful in that scenario as its UK based but there are people from all over the world who ask about their pets.
There are sepearate sections for all the different types of animals and you dont need to join to look through the site, only if you need to post a question.
A qualified vet, the site owner, usually answers within 24 hours but there are a lot of experienced owners and breeders on there who offer advice, usually from personal experiences.
There is a phone number that you can usually speak to the vet on, 24 hours per day if you are really worried but thats a premium number.
Its probably still good value if it helps to save your pet from suffering or reassures you when its at the weekend and it may save you the cost of an emergency visit to the vets when its out of hours.
