Silent Hunter 4
« on: October 03, 2008, 10:42 »
Hello Pals,

I have a problem with this game. The graphics are very jumpy and slow, and so is the mouse.
Here are my PC's specs:

CPU Type   AMD Sempron, 1600 MHz (8 x 200) 3000+
Motherboard Name   ASRock AM2NF6G-VSTA (2 PCI, 1 PCI-E x1, 1 PCI-E x16, 1 HDMR, 4 DDR2 DIMM, Audio, Video, LAN)
Motherboard Chipset   nVIDIA nForce 6100-405, AMD Hammer
Video Adapter   NVIDIA GeForce 6100 nForce 405 (512 MB)
3D Accelerator   nVIDIA nForce 6100-405
RAM 3GB Kingston
Available space 10GB
OS windows XP
Direct X 9 updated on install

I also have SH3 which has very similar graphics but non of these problems.

What do you think?

John

This sort of thing is usually down to the game exceeding the limits of the graphics card, or perhaps the game disc is faulty?

I'm only guessing, so hold on for one of our proper techies to come along, who will be able to assess your specs better.  :)

I've had a look around and it looks like I'll have to get a better card.

That's how it seems to go at the moment, John, you buy one new thing, and then find it snowballs.  ::)

Too true.........
I updated the graphics driver which has made a slight difference, but I think I'll nip along to my local PC shop (Media Markt - my fave shop) and see what's available.

Thanks everyone
