Topic: Trojan Horse Infection Help

Hi,
On Friday I came home from work to find AVG and Spybot had found a trojan in my PC.
They have quarantined it but it buried in my system, XP Home.
Is there some free software I can use to route it out and delete it.

Try SuperAntiSpyware, and / or MalwareBytes.  Sorry, can't do links from my phone, but they should pop up on Google.

Malware bytes will allow you to follow them to where they are embedded and delete the folder they are in

Hello,
Just a quick update.
I tried Malware Bytes to great effect.
It found 10 items hidden away plus it highlighted some registry entries.
I got back to the folders one by one and deleted them, then ran another scan.
Second time around it found 5 entries and again I went to each folder and deleted it.
I ran out of time on Sunday but I'll fire up the PC this evening and check it again.
Fingers crossed it'll be okay.

You may have to turn off system restore to completely remove the some of it

If you do remember to turn it back on when finished with the scan
