The Directgov is offering people researching their family history the chance to get hold of official documents such as birth certificates for as little as £7.
According to Directgov, these documents can cost as much as £30 from other genealogy services.
Other documents available include marriage certificates, adoption certificates and civil partnership certificates.
You will need to have certain information such as full names, dates and locations to order the certificate.
You can also order special commemorative marriage certificates for silver, ruby, golden and diamond anniversaries, at a cost of £30.
Jayne Nickalls, chief executive of Directgov, said: "This is a wonderful addition to the Directgov family and we are delighted to begin hosting this information.
"People don't need to pay over the odds for what is an essential legal and historical document of life in the UK. Directgov can play a key role in helping people to access it and in saving money," she continued.
