Hello Pals,

I've found a proxy that seems to work. The problem is that I'm prompted to turn on Java. It's already on, so what's the problem?
My os is Vista basic and I use Kaspersky Internet Security.

Any ideas please?

Hello Rik,

Maybe I should have mentioned that I'm in Spain, and that I want to watch BBC iplayer programs.
This means that I have to use a UK based proxy with a UK isp.

The proxy I've tried to use is: http://corona1.co.uk/

Mmm. Works fine for me, XP and NOD32. It sounds like you're going to have to try disabling elements of KIS one at a time to see which is blocking the Java. (Start with the firewall.)

I'm still working on it.
First I turned the wall off, then I turned KIS off for a few minutes and nothing happened.
I posted on the KIS forum and got this reply:

 -Well unfortunately you have to contact the site admins directly. It has nothing to do with KIS. Becausing your are bypassing country restrictions I am afraid you are on your own-

So, I'll try contacting the proxy.

Sorry about the delay. I'm ready to try and get my head around this again.

Well, I'm using internet explorer and my os is vista basic(Yes, I know)
I've tried firefox and it didn't work.

Meanwhile, I'll see if I can find one that works.

Be very very careful plugging in proxy information into your browser settings. There are servers out there that are setup just to inject viruses into users trying to get into places they aren't suppose to. The last couple of times i used a free proxy I ended up with virtumonde infections.

Yeah, it was a loophole i heard they fixed awhile back. I wasn't sure if it was still useable or not so i edited my post. Those two links up there are iframe proxies. Babel fish is also a good translator/proxy. Again, I don't know if it'll translate from english to english though. Use that ass proxy uptop.

Use Riks http://www.hidemyass.com/? . I went to the IP port proxies tab and searched for port proxies for the UK and got a list of 65 ip addresses. They even have instructions on configuring your browser to use them. If you configure your browser to run using one of these proxies then you need to turn on your antivirus software. If your blocking the java on that webpage with your browser you need to allow java so you can view the site. Keep in mind that as a rule surfing the internet through a proxy is slow compared to your regular speeds. That's because your going through a middle man in a different country to get the same information. So don't be surprised if the video your after takes a long time to load if it loads at all.

In firefox the instructions guide you to the place to plug in the proxy information.

For FireFox users go to (Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Connection Settings) and select "Manual Proxy Configuration", and enter in an IP and Port from our list into the text boxes.

For Internet Explorer users go to (Tools > Internet Options > Connections > Lan), select "use proxy server" and enter in an IP and Port from our list.

Success, finally....

I'm using a uk based proxy that works.
Before I used to get the 'enable java' screen, even when it was already enabled. I found out that I had to clear the history before using the proxy, now it works.

Edit:
As soon as I get the connection, I turn off the 'enable proxy' for security reasons.
