I've been happily using F-Secure for some time but around a week ago it asked me to download an important update which would enhance security and require a restart. For a week I refused to do so telling it to remind me later. Today when I turned on my computer a "Windows Download" automatic updates began even though I had this feature turned off. Upon checking it seems to have switched itself on all by itself! There was an automatic reboot afterwards after which I began getting an irritating F-Secure message of "System Modification attempt to the Registry" warning every time I opened a new webpage. I could "trust it" or "disallow it". I then noticed that F-Secure is set to Custom security instead of Normal but ot will not let me change back to normal. I can scan for malware but I cannot update my virus database - it just won't let me. My license has another3 months to run so I'm hardly out of compliance. It's all very strange!
