Space exploration is only useful if it can be adapted for war.  The Hubble Space Telescope was a copy of earlier space telescopes which were used for spying.  NASA was not allowed to use the technology for space research until it was declassified.  I wonder who the CIA used to launch the spy-scopes?  ;D
