I was around 10 when my parents took me to Pwllheli Butlins. I have to say that I had a great time too but it was my first proper holiday and it was quite an adventure being driven all the way up to north Wales. I remember the chalets were really small and very basic and were not equipped with toilets. They had large toilet blocks with washing facilities, non mixed of course!
Meals were provided 'canteen style' with long wooden benches to sit on and were served at set times. There were lots of activities for kids and adults and planning the day in order not to miss anything was a major event.
