Samsung may have leapfrogged Apple and Nokia in the smartphone market, according to research from Strategy Analytics.Last week, it was revealed that Apple had surged past the ailing Nokia in the smartphone arena, and Samsung looks set to trump both rival manufactuers driven by a variety of handsets on the Android platform and a booming presence in emerging markets such as China.
According to a Bloomberg report, Strategy Analytics is predicting Samsung's second quarter smartphone sales to range between 18m and 21m, pushing it past Nokia's 16.7m handsets and rivalling Apple's 20.3m iPhones sold.
