If it's clear I'll have a telescope on it tonight but unless you know how to find the Pinwheel Galaxy (M101) it's going to be very hard to locate. The BBC were recommending binoculars but really! It's far below naked eye visibility,and, let's face it, you need a very powerful pair of binoculars such as my 11 x 80's. This has been hyped up out of all proportion in my opinion. Best thing is to find a local amateur astronomy society and ask when they are having an observation session.
