St Albans-based ISP Freedom2Surf has begun taking orders for a new consumer-based 1 Mb ADSL service.
Based on BT Wholesale's new 1Mb IPStream Home1000 package (trials of which are due to start next month) Freedom2Surf's product costs £29.99 (ex VAT) a month.
The product is due to come online from October 6, although punters can pre-register by visiting the ISP's Web site.
The first 500 customers registering for the service can also get the activation fee (usually £59.99 ex VAT) at half price.
In a statement Freedom2Surf MD Chris Panayis, said: "Freedom2Surf is committed to lowering the price of ADSL services to a sustainable and more affordable level for our customers. That is why we have moved quickly to take advantage of this new package from BT Wholesale, to make ultra-fast ADSL."
Elsewhere, Sheffield-based ISP PlusNet has cut the ribbon on a new entry-level dial-up product.
For £4.99 a month, Connect Start offers five hours of unmetered Net access a week with no restrictions on when they can access the Net. ®
I haven't even got 512K ADSL yet and already I'm looking forward to being able to get 1Mb. We are never satisfied are we?
